Your Role...

Blick Art Materials is the industry leader in Art Supplies and is looking for a Distribution Center Manager on second shift (2:30PM – 11:00PM) for their 1 million square foot Distribution Center. The DC is seeking individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment, who enjoy learning new responsibilities, and who seek opportunities for personal and professional development.


• Lead/Supervise 5 supervisors and 80-100 hourly associates.
• Create and maintain a safe work environment by leading safety programs, ensuring associates receive safety training and certifications, enforcing safety procedures, and addressing safety issues.
• Build our next generation of leaders by creating and implementing technical, professional, and leadership development plans for supervisors, department specialists, and workflow coordinators.
• Drive employee initiatives to create and promote an environment where team members are involved, empowered, and committed to the success of the Company.
• Develop and execute strategies for recognition, engagement, and teambuilding.
• Design and manage resilient operations with a flexible workforce that can respond to variations in volumes while meeting budgetary and operational targets.
• Take ownership over team performance by assessing performance of associates, designing appropriate feedback, training, and coaching processes, and managing careers to new responsibilities.
• Direct daily operations including workflow scheduling, monitoring of productivity and quality, process troubleshooting, and all other activities required to ensure safety, inventory accuracy, on-time deliveries, and exceptional customer satisfaction.
• Plan, organize, and monitor the receiving, storage, assembly (if applicable) and distribution of all items received from vendors.
• Ensure that inventory is accurate and organized at all times and maintain proper inventory levels.
• Ensure all areas of distribution center are well maintained and kept at a high level of cleanliness.
• Maintain and support Blick Art Materials policies and procedures.
• Maintain and support the confidentiality of employee and company records

 

Education and Experience

 

• 3-5 years of prior shift management preferably in a diverse warehouse
• Bachelor's degree is desired

 

Qualification Requirements:

 

• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with others.
• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple responsibilities.
• Required personal computer skills, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook
• Ability to work effectively with team members.
